Yogananda Foundation founded by students of Paramahansa Yogananda, Jan Chaithavuthi and Kanchanoo Muangsiri, registered and approved as a non profit organization by the Thai government in 23 January 2006. The foundation’s aim is to follow His Majesty the King’s royal speech given to the committee for the disabled foundation to serve for the disabled, and from one of the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda to serve mankind as one’s larger Self - to love and to help those who are in need.
“Perfect wisdom, perfect joy, and perfect love seem to have no reality in this world-
yet the ideal of perfection is within each one of us. The path of Yoga that
Paramahansa Yogananda has given to the world shows us the way to find this lost
perfection within ourselves… to discover the wonder and joy of our own existence…
to become convinced beyond any doubt that we are loved, cherished, and protected
by that Invisible Power which upholds universes and gives beauty and place to the
smallest living thing.”

“The ideal of love for God and service to humanity found full expression in the life of
Paramahansa Yogananda…Though the major part of his life was spent outside India, still
he takes his place among our great saints. His work continues to grow and shine ever more
brightly, drawing people everywhere on the path of the pilgrimage of the Spirit.”
The Government of India paid tribute to Paramahansa Yogananda upon issuing a commemorative stamp in his honor on March 7, 1977, the twenty-fifth anniversary of his passing.
Paramahansa Yogananda began his life’s work in India in 1917 with the founding of a
“how-to-live” school for boys, where modern education methods were combined with yoga training and instruction in spiritual ideals. In 1920 he was invited to Boston, U.S.A. as India’s representative to an International Congress of Religious Liberals.
