For the disabled children and adults:
TOOLS & EQUIPMENTS
Disabled motorcycle or tools and support equipments for disabled persons.
Transportation for disabled child or adult is a big problem. Thai people normally
go about by motorcycles. There is adapted motorcycle for disabled and built
by a disabled group.
The cost is the big burden and most of them are unable to acquire one. Anna has sponsored one for Pranod in the picture above. Yogananda Foundation sponsored the one below for Maete of Wang Nua Disabled Center.
We need more disabled motorcycles for the disabled members and adapted motorcycles for the family to be able to bring their children to places like rehab center or the support group. For the disabled adults to be able to go out not just only stay at home most of their lives. Kob, a member and a committee of Yogananda Foundation Chiang Dao Center for the Disabled, is a mechanic by trade. This is his work for Jian, his disabled neighbor. Kob drives for Jian if he has to go long distance like coming to the center. Ironically, Kob does not have one himself. We need more vehicles for the disabled members.
We need more supported tools and rehab equipments for the disabled members to use at the center and at homes. Without the financial help, most of them will not be able to obtain them. Wheelchair, tricycle, seated toilet – disabled people cannot squat to the floor for the Thai toilet, almost all necessity are needed to maintain functional lives for the disabled.
Even pampers for children (little ones and grown up ones), who are unable to control their bowl and urine, are the most expensive items they cannot afford!
A bag of 10 pampers is more than 2 days wage earned. Yogananda Foundation
has been helping some families on this need. But there is more in need.

Help for teenage boys and girls who need to improve themselves:
When we help the teens who lost their ways to get back on track and become good members of society again, we are in fact helping ourselves. We need each one of them and when we can count of these children, we are doing our part in the world.
EDUCATION FOR THE TEENS:
LIBRARY
The next work is to open up the world in books for the boys and girls.
Books for library of teenage boys and girls at Juvenile Detention Facility,
Mae Rim, Chiang Mai. There are between 300- 500 boys and 30-40 girls
at the facility. The library with more interesting books is good food for mind
and soul for the children that have no place to go and nothing to spend on
their free time. These pictures show how badly the library needs help!
Yogananda Foundation would really appreciate your contribution to open up
the world to these children.
COMPUTER CLASSROOM
Yogananda Foundation has set up computer classroom for the boys at the facility.
With support for on-going training by the generous computer teachers from Chiang Mai Commercial College to the boys with good behavior, the result is improvement
on their good conducts. During these 2 years, over a hundred of boys have attended the short causes program.
Behind the close gate…this computer classroom has a lot of meaning to the boys.
They can use their creativity. They can border their world and gain more knowledge and work as a team in the constructive way.
THAI MASSAGE TRAINING
Over 600 boys and girls also have been trained Thai massage under the support
of Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai for the past 5 years.
For better education to children from lesser income families:
Educational support for poor family in Chiang Mai and near by area.
Yogananda Foundation supports children with helping fund during opening
of new school year.
